. This helps us plan to have enough food for all to enjoy! The charge for meal is $2 per person ($10 maximum per family).
Awana is an acronym for “Aproved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” taken from 2 Timothy 2:15. Awana’s goal is to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. The kids are divided by age group with 3 and 4 year olds in the Cubbies group, Kindergarten through 2nd Grades are in Sparks, and 3rd through 5th Grades are in T&T (Truth & Training). They will participate with this group throughout the evening. They also have handbooks that are specific to their group. These handbooks include activities, verses, and other tasks for them to accomplish. As they complete their handbook they receive awards and have the opportunity to earn larger awards at the end of the year Awana Awards Ceremony!
Each night the three groups will participate in a 1) game time, 2) counsel time – where they hear a Bible lesson that applies to their lives, and 3) handbook time – where they break out with their leader and a handful of their peers to recite sections they have worked on during the week.
Our Awana program has an open enrollment policy in that children are welcome to sign up at any time during the year, however, space is limited and once maximum capacity has been reached for an age group, we will add names to a waiting list for enrollment.
We hold the safety of your children as a high value here at First Free and in order to provide a place that is safe for them to learn, play, sing, and have fun. Cubbies and nursery are for leaders children only. All of our volunteers go through a screening process including a background check and reference checks.
